‘Beyond Boundaries’ was an Indo-Pak street children initiative. It was a response to the growing communal tension in the region. Cricket, a much revered subcontinental game, was the bridge that brought street children together to play cricket across both borders. So the Indo-Pak XI team played with local teams in Mumbai, Lahore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Kasur, Hyderabad, etc facilitated by local NGOs. They were welcomed by huge crowds including district governors, media, trade unions and local personalities. The children came up with the slogan, “Cricket toh sirf bahana hai, dosti aage badhana hai”. In India, Channel V toured with them throughout the 13-day journey. It was a memorable experience for everyone who participated in it. By the end of it, the children were inseparable and it was a teary-eyed affair to part at the border once again.​
